PSU Blast Image Config (aka "BIC") is a dispatch software solution to promptly mend and configure a Macintosh back to a known state: Configure and place the Open Firmware security, preventing unauthorized access via single (base) user mode or booting from external devices Set the date and time Restore a subdue disc prototype promptly to a Mac's inner hard disc Configure the network settings on the restored disc (via ncutil): IP Address : DHCP or Manual (Static) Subnet Mask & Router DNS Servers Network Names (Computer and Local) Change the startup disc to the restored disc Extensible through pre- and post-restore scripts Specify default and autorun settings via a predilection file This tool is intended to automate the frame process as much as possible. We expend BIC here at PSU to do the initial install of the base OS and applications on completely of our lab and kiosk Macs. What's New: Version 2.0b17: Publically released on 08/19/2004.
